The Lifeboats of Titanic

This has been HEAVILY REVISED and is now, I believe, the most complete set of manifests available. I began to doubt the accuracy and completeness of the manifests I was using so I have spent some months cross checking several sources. I have also updated the teacher notes and simplified the introduction. If you have the earlier version send my a photo of you holding it to the email in the book and I will send you the revised interior as a word document. You will find this easier to copy anyway. In fact, if you buy this version and you want the file, just get in touch. I have reduced the price considerably. I would rather the resource was used than make much money from it. it is now priced to give me £1 a copy! This is a photocopiable resource supporting independent child-centred learning within a structured whole class project written by a retired County Advanced Skills Teacher. It is an investigation in to the questions surrounding The Lifeboats of the Titanic. Students will use detailed "manifests" from the lifeboats to statistically determine the truth about the key questions. This would be an ideal starting point for a project about the ship and the society that built it. This has been used many times with students ranging from Year 6 to Year 11 and has always proven to be engaging, stimulating and productive.
