The Parasite
The Parasite is the 1894 novelette by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle about a young man named, Austin Gilroy. Gilroy is a young physioligy student under the tutelage of a professor of the occult. In his studies, Gilroy is introduced to an older woman, Miss Penclosa, who claims to have mystical powers. Gilroy's fiancée is skeptical until a series of unfortunate events may convince the young couple that Miss Penclosa is more than she seems.
