In addition to publishing books of poetry and fiction, Richard Kostelanetz has written about all the arts. In his second collection of essays about music, More On Innovative Musicians, among the individuals discussed at some length are Arvo Pärt, Nicolas Slonimsky, Lou Harrison, P. D. Q. Bach (Peter Schickele), Frank Zappa, Glenn Gould, Milton Babbitt, Morton Feldman, Aaron Copland, Philip Glass, Bobby McFerrin, B. B. King, and, of course, John Cage, about whom Kostelanetz has produced several books.
