How to Rob a Bank - Peter Sharp Legal Mystery #13: the Ultimate Locked-room Mystery
Gene Grossman
The Great Brodini, a well-known hypnotist/magician, is writing a book titled "How to Get Away With Robbing a Bank." To boost book sales, he plans to pull off the 'perfect' bank robbery and then beat the case in court, by: First, by use of an airtight alibi, to humiliate the District Attorney - a woman who has tried unsuccessfully several times to prosecute him for 'groping' female volunteers during the hypnotism portion of his show. Second, he plans to be defended by a person the D. A. is definitely not fond of - her ex-husband, the unsuspecting attorney Peter Sharp. And thirdly, it will provide him with a huge reward for recovering insured jewelry worth millions of dollars. The only problem is he didn't plan on going up against the crime-solving abilities of little Suzi, Peter Sharp's 12½-year old legal ward, who has been waiting for a chance to expose Brodini as a fakir and regain her position as law enforcement's favorite go-to person.
