Best French Short Stories

This collection of French short stories is a logical continuation of our earlier publication, Best Russian Short Stories. The present volume reflects,to some extent ,the enigmatic universe of French story telling with its tradition of crisp, clear and stylistically refined language giving an unusual depth and laconism to psychological characteristics of human beings. We hope that English translations render some of the beauty and internal narrative consistency of French originals.
