Kristan Williams
The Backpack is a delightful children's book written to inspire all children, especially those with learning challenges, to pursue their dreams using the gifts and talents God has given them. Kristan Williams is a graduate of the University of New Mexico where she got her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Film and Digital Media. At the age of 4, she was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and experienced the same struggles as Shelly in her book, The Backpack. Despite her learning differences, Kristan has always loved art and creating characters from her God-given imagination. She would love to bring more of her creatures to life in books or film. Through The Backpack she desires to bring hope to others with learning differences and to let them know God has a plan and purpose for their lives. One of her favorite Bible verses is Philippians 1:6: "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." (NASB)
