The Lighthouse Christmas

Every day, Joseph Strout helps his father take care of Portland Head Lighthouse. And every day, he finds himself increasingly discontent with his position as the Assistant Lighthouse Keeper. He would much rather see the world. Adventure and excitement calls to him. His father wants nothing more than a son who will follow in his footsteps. As Christmas of 1886 draws closer, tensions between the two are higher than ever. The trip into town the day before Christmas Eve changes everything. Joseph learns of Annie C. Maguire, an ill-fated ship on her return journey from Argentina. He and his father are tasked with reporting her to the sheriff if she happens by their lighthouse. It seems like a simple favor.
