Noir's life on Layer Seventeen had been nice and quiet ever since his band tore itself apart on the edge of international stardom. But it's not going to stay that way since his latest one night stand has left him with something unexpected that not even penicillin can do something about: a profile on underground app Murdr. Kuro is a brilliant programmer trying to figure out who has hacked his latest app and why. Noir may just be the clue he's needed. But things will not be easy. The police already have their hands full tracking a serial killer with a gruesome MO and the Layer's tech giants are engaged in a cold war being fought in the boardrooms and on the streets. Then there's that little piece of tech that has wound up in the hands of one of Noir's old bandmates. Layer Seventeen will never be the same again.
