Fear of the dark and the unknown are things that Michael has carried with him for years. As a young boy wandering the streets of Minneapolis, he learned to survive by stealing and violence. Eventually becoming a hardened criminal, Michael finds himself in prison. Upon his release, he flees to California to escape the cold and his past. Camping in the Redwood Forest, he learns what fear, something he has never known, is all about. For the rest of his life, he must contend with one more nightmarish experience after another. As he struggles to make a normal life for himself and stay in the light, it becomes harder and harder as additional situations prove to be new nightmares. Going from a poor criminal to a rich man who owns the world's largest diamond, he must escape those criminal elements who would do him evil and the fear that is embedded into the very soul of his being. His love of flying helicopters has been his salvation, but now he must face his fear again or those he has learned to love will die.
