Honoria, sister of the Roman emperor, and Ildico, sister of the Frankish king, have both come to the camp of Attila. He is to marry one of them but has difficulty reaching a decision. He consults two kings who are subordinate to him. Each of the kings is in love with one of the two princesses, and those loves are reciprocated.
The first performance of Attila occurred on March 4, 1667.
The present volume is a translation of Corneille's French alexandrine verse into English iambic pentameter.
