Festival of Storms

The city of Tormid is the last vestige of life on Earth. Surrounded by nothing but ruins, trapped by endless lightning, deadly hurricane-force winds, torrential downpours, and life-choking dust clouds. The people have come to accept their lot. Every thirteen years, a child must be offered up in order to appease the Storm King, a malevolent God who provides safety from nature's wrath.




When Alison Mason, a simple workshop owner, is thrust into the role of Storm Mother via an unwanted pregnancy, she must deal with the roller coaster ride of first accepting her son's existence, and then believing that he must be sacrificed. This latter part is inconceivable.




She must know...is the Storm King real, and what really lies beyond the walls? These questions lead her onto a spiraling path of lies, betrayal, and hardship. As she learns one hard truth after another, and makes ever more dangerous enemies, she presses forward into an endless sea of conflict.




The entirety of civilization opposes her. Against all odds she must prevent her son from being burned alive....in the Festival of Storms.
