If this tree could talk it would have many interesting stories to share. What you might not have noticed, the tree is damaged. You see, it was struck by lightening and not only that, but it had weathered many storms. This tree is symbolic of what our life was at one time. Every counselor that we sought seemed to think that our marriage was diseased and there was no hope. Our children were definitely being negatively affected. We were so damaged! Our scars were ugly! Was there any hope for our family? Should we be "taken down?"We loved that ole' oak so we decided to take a chance on that tree. With care and tenderness the tree began to heal and though it has remained scarred, it provides the most wonderful shade on a hot summer day. Jesus took a chance on us and with His healing balm we too have survived. We have faced many storms, some more severe than others, and though you might still see some scars, in spite of all this He has used us to provide "shade" for others. This is our story and our journey proving the faithfulness of God.
