This workbook accompanies the L-Pop: Real Music for English Language Learning Cd. It offers lessons for English as a Second Language (ESL) learners for a variety of English grammar issues, including present and past progressive, phrasal verbs, infinitives, and more. The workbook can be used by English teachers or by students for self-study. In each lesson, there are grammar explanations and exercises, as well as activities for practice and conversation. Writing, listening, and speaking activities are included, as well as suggestions for homework exercises. Completing each lesson should take about a half hour, but students and teachers may choose to spend less or more time on the lessons. Each lesson plan is to be used with a song from the L-Pop Cd, which can be purchased on Amazon. The songs on the L-Pop Cd each provide many examples of a grammar issue that is known to be difficult for English language learners. For instance, there is a song to practice phrasal verbs that uses many phrasal verbs in a natural way. Students can listen to the song to hear the grammar used in a natural way with the music. Then they can complete cloze (fill in the blank) exercises for missing words in the songs, practice the definitions of the phrasal verbs, engage in discussion activities to practice speaking English, and so on.
