Hugo is a sweet little hedgehog, but sometimes things get to be too much for him. When there are lots of loud noises and people, Hugo curls up into a spiky ball, unintentionally stinging his classmates. He feels sad and very sorry, especially when his friends nickname him, Prickly Hugo, and refuse to play with him. What he doesn't realize is that his kindly, teacher, Mr. Owl, knows just how to help. Included at the end of the story, are questions. These are meant to inspire dialog with children who are learning to cope when things get to be 'too much'.
Peaceful Hugo is the touching tale of a sweet hedgehog and his journey to finding the calm within a loud classroom, and most of all, loving himself just the way he is.
