Cubicle Envy

When economic crisis paralyzes a nation, who is to blame? Chris Mackey! Wait, the guy in accounting who keeps bugging us about expense reports? They should can him for being annoying. They should hold a raffle to see who gets to fire that trouble-maker Lisa Cordeiro too. I'd buy a ticket. Management doesn't really like out of the box thinking. It's more likely Product Wave will have another ice cream social and nothing will ever change. Things did change around April of 2009 in a row of cubicles in this global company. Salaries and bonuses were frozen, while staff reduction fears played like Musak. The accountants went rogue. If anyone actually understood what accountants do, they would have been scared. Magically melting 401ks had everyone a bit preoccupied, or maybe there were cute cats on You-Tube again. Anyway, when it was all over, Chris, Lisa, and their fraudster crew got all of the cube dwellers a special April bonus in their paychecks. Victory was theirs, but perhaps they pissed off some of the wrong people along the way. Cubicle Envy is a satire about office life, cubicle corruption, and everything else that gets talked about at the cafeteria table in a big company.
