Twelve Words Spoken by a Poem
If only I could

and love like water

Jill Chan's new collection is a gathering of poems written from the period between 2000-2007. This book collects not just the poems not in her previous publications but represents what is rare and what we see as work coming to us from its own time to arrive in ours.
From review of These Hands Are Not Ours (ESAW, 2009):
"These Hands Are Not Ours[...] is the third collection by a poet who, with each offering, is refining herself as a distinct voice of exile and dispossession in the New Zealand literary canon." -Siobhan Harvey, Poetry New Zealand
