Whatever It Takes: the True Story of a Fan Making It into the Nfl

Publisher Marketing: The amazing and true story of a fan making it into the NFL.... The story begins on January 15, 1982, when the Washington Redskins were playing the hometown Minnesota Vikings on an old RCA television in the corner of his parents' living room. It was love at first sight. The game captivated the young boy's heart and his imagination. The years continued to go by and his passion continued growing. Then on his seventeenth birthday, he was given a book that forever changed his life. It was a book about scouting. This was it! This is what he wanted to be! He wanted to be an NFL scout! Despite the many obstacles he faced along the way, from the volatile house he grew up in to never fitting in, he never lost sight of his dream. He barely finished high school and soon after failed out of a small community college, but that did not matter to him. His dream was football.... More adversities kept coming at him, but no matter how trying the situations, he believed he could make it into the National Football League. Even when his life was on the brink of being shattered, he believed deep down he could make it. One day while working as a loan officer, he was sitting in a meeting and had this thought go through his mind, "What am I doing here?" Right then and there in the midst of that meeting, ideas began popping into his head and he began putting together a plan that would prove to cost him nearly everything, but he had to go for it. He just had to go for it. After seven months of working relentlessly on something that had never been done before, the call came and Daniel was hired by the New York Jets to work in Pro Scouting. Out of nowhere and against all the odds he found himself working on one of the best staffs in league history. Through the eyes of a fan, is an unprecedented look of what it's like to work in the day-to-day operations of an NFL team and what it is like to be around many of the biggest names in the game. Woven in, is life itself. Whatever it Takes is beyond words; it's an experience.
