A pleasure trip to Malta turns into a nightmare when Jay Bentley is informed his brother's yacht has been captured by terrorists. A huge ransom is demanded, one Jay must deliver himself at the request of his brother. The family corporation hires a despicable local gangster to ensure the corporate head is released. Jay is quickly introduced to the worst in mankind. He is exposed to torture, the hidden organizations that hold power and influence in Europe, and the inept government all of whom want to get their hands on the enormous ransom. It is a lesson on how the pure of heart can be corrupted.
