Mr. Delaney's Mirror

Mr. Delaney?s Mirror is the story of a modern girl and her peers as they grow through their teen years into early adulthood. Through the examples and choices made by Bailey Chandler and a variety of her friends, this book is a motivation and inspiration for young people of all ages to envision their own futures. It is a philosophy that encourages teens, pre-teens, and even younger children to start now, making better lives for their future selves?the selves they might imagine reflected in Mr. Delaney's unusual mirror! In this way, a young person may become a hero to his or her own future self and family. Young people who focus on their individual futures and relate actions (and/or lack of actions) to future long-term results tend to avoid self damaging behaviors, while laying much more solid foundations. Tens of thousands of elementary school students know the voice of Jim Lord through his audio presentation entitled The Beginning of a Hero heard regularly on school intercoms during morning announcements. Likewise, students in middle and high schools hear a series of messages called A Reflection of Your Future, also by Jim Lord. Jim's school assembly programs, retreats, and workshops are endorsed and applauded by educators as positive reinforcements, personalizing messages found in the audio programs and in printed materials, including Mr. Delaney's Mirror.
