The book begins with the immigration of both parents and the difficulties they encountered. Language was the biggest barrier. It contains short stories, both tragic and happy. It details the raising of seven children on a tiny island called 'the Patch'. Quips and quotes are written in Polish. The book details growing up with happy memories of my beloved father Ta and frugal Ma, and happy adventures with friends from the Patch. Included are events that happened before my time that such as the Depression. Accounts of World War II are included, telling of brothers and relatives in the service.
