Contributor Bio: Derryberry, Larry Larry Derryberry was born and reared on a cotton farm in southwest Oklahoma. The Derryberry family survived the Great Depression, boll-weevils, and tornadoes. He attended rural schools and graduated from Altus High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1963. Larry and Gale Brazil Derryberry were married in 1963 and have two children whose families live in Oklahoma City. Their son Darren and daughter-in-law Cindy have two children, Andrew and Olivia. Their daughter Dara and son-in-law Derek Prentice are the parents of Tristan and Ava Gale. While in law school, Larry was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives where he served as Chairman of the Congressional Redistricting Committee and as Speaker Pro Tempore. In 1970, he became the youngest person to be elected as Attorney General of the State of Oklahoma. He was reelected in 1974. He established his law office in Oklahoma City in 1979 and is Senior Partner in the firm of Derryberry & Naifeh. Larry and Gale live in Oklahoma City. ?The Scranimal? is the first of several sing-along books that Larry and Gale have written for their grandchildren. Larry writes the lyrics and music, which he sings and plays on a keyboard. Larry records his own CDs that are put into book form and illustrated by Gale Derryberry. They are presented as gifts to their four grandchildren.
