Rogue Assassin

Rogue Synopsis The year was 2011 - 25 years with no major conflicts in the Sicilian Mafioso was in jeopardy by the rash and unsanctioned actions of one man, Benito Grasso. Enzo Grasso, Don of the largest Sicilian Mafia Family has only one son, Benito. Benito is the enforcer for the Grasso Organization, and an assassin for hire, often for foreign criminal operations such as Germany, most of Eastern Europe and three for the Russians - all without the knowledge or blessings of his father. Benito carried many a grudge. Number one on his list is Giuseppe Salerno's Family. The Salerno's, with blessings of his father and all the other Sicilian Dons, had seceded from the Sicilian Mafia in April of 2009. The Salernos had developed a legitimate arms and weapons operation, registered in the U. S., Saudi Arabia and the European Union. Paolo, Giuseppe Salerno's brother was on the brink of inking a contract with Israel and Mexico. Contract sales to various governments were just shy of fifty times the dollar value sold illegally or to the Mafia families. It was income which was legal and helpful in laundering monies from criminal organizations. Giuseppe gave 10% of his profits to the Table to be split among all the families out of respect. Benito, seeing his father as week for releasing the Salernos, had nothing but contempt for the agreement. Such a thing had never happened in the violent history of the Sicilian mob. He believed Enzo should have followed the examples of great Capos from the past. They would have eliminated the Salernos simply for asking, then taken over the lucrative operation themselves. Benito made a huge mistake when he brought up the subject in front of other Families. Benito had chosen the day when all the other Dons were assembled to make the final decision regarding the Salernos Enzo was enraged by his son's lack of respect for the Table - especially for him. Benito was rebuked to the point of humiliation by his father. Enzo chastised him for bringing it up at a meeting, rather than in private as he should have. It was an action of complete lack of respect for Enzo, embarrassing him in front of all the Sicilian families after they had already decided to grant the Salerno Family's their request. The rebuke festered two years in Benito. After securing the loyalty of the Grasso England organization of over 150 men in the Spring of 2011, Benito went rogue against his father, killing Giuseppe's son and daughter-in-law in Tuscany. Adding to the offense, he took 16-year old, Stephanie hostage: smuggling her to England to sell to his Croatian flesh peddlers. The Chameleon is contracted to find Stephanie and bring her home safely. Lazarus accepts the contract pro bono. Locating the flashy Benito wasn't difficult, not with the Chameleon's extensive underworld grapevine and the aide of the NSA and MI-6. The major challenge would be to extract the girl without killing Benito, which would ignite a blood war in Sicily. Lazarus assembles a team in London to carry out the mission with his new protégé, Leonard James - ex-marine and explosives expert with a haunted past. Can he succeed and avoid war, or is killing Benito the only way to recover Stephanie?
