Christmas isn't all tinsel and holly. Having finished her pastry course in Seattle, Louise is back in Fortune Bay for Christmas before returning to the city to hunt for her dream job. Meanwhile, she's staying at the Murphy cabin for the month. Her old friend Blue is determined not to get caught up in her drama again. He has carried a torch for Louise his whole life, always stepping in when she needs him, and he understands better than anyone that her preference for short-term relationships and easy quips are just a defense, protecting her from more loss and pain. It's how she's dealt with affairs of the heart ever since the horrible accident years ago that left her convinced she would never be able to have a family of her own. As Christmas festivities swirl around them, an unplanned pregnancy throws Louise's plans into confusing disarray.
