When the U. S. S. Eclipse, an experimental United States warship equipped with leading-edge technology, armaments, and artificial intelligence goes rouge during a routine training mission, the United States military is left scrambling to try and regain control of the ship while trying to find those responsible. As the ship runs rampant through the seas, political tensions run high between the States and their secretive ally, Serenidad, as they try and prevent a war between the nations. The crew, trapped on board and held captive by the ship's internal defenses, are forced to risk their lives in order to try and escape. Those involved in the ship's recovery are left with a difficult choice, sink the Eclipse and all its crew, or let it roam and start a war.
