Newly qualified as a detective, the feisty young and beautiful DC Alex McDonald and her equally young and enthusiastic partner Troy's first case is that of a missing person - in Uganda. As the movements of the missing woman become shrouded in mystery, Alex's search takes her to the African country.

Guided by the missing woman's diaries, Alex travels the length of Uganda in her quest, little realizing that time is running out. As events back home in Melbourne and in Uganda close in on them, Alex's search yields a sudden and unexpected twist. Working her way through the culture and customs of Uganda, can Alex find the lady in time?
