15-year-old Taylor Peabody's world had already been turned upside-down with the recent death of her grandmother. But her life gets even crazier when she finds herself sitting by her grandmother's grave one moment and surrounded by miles of Nevada desert the next. Taylor will soon realize her new surroundings are filled with ghosts, monsters, and everything else she thought was fiction. She is joined by Taylor Hansen, a rebellious and staunchly independent teenager, Taylor Sawyer, another fifteen-year-old who can't seem to keep his head out of the clouds, on a quest to escape their new reality before a reckless villain traps them there forever. With the help of a government scientist, a hairless cat, a myriad of ghosts, and a giant half-man half-moth, will Taylor be able to find her way home again? Or will she be stuck within the realms of The Unreal forever?
