Bandits on the Rim

Garrett Kay and his three buddies?Larson, Dunham and J.?are on their way home after a camping trip. But they never get there. While stopped at a supermarket, they stand looking at a TV Guide and talking about Elvira, ?Mistress of the Breasts.? A runaway Cadillac crashes into the market, scattering the four friends and pinning Kay to a freezer door. In a surreal mix of doctors, nurses, monks, bandits and natural wonders, Kay takes us with him to the backcountry of his mind as he fights for his life on the supermarket floor. A grizzled old Jack Palance rancher torments him, a sexy Julie Christie nurse brings him morphine, and a cop who shot himself abets him as he wanders widely and wildly, taking his bearings by grave markers, giant Jeffrey pines, glasses of chilled chardonnay and the smell of butterscotch.
