The Desk: a Novel

Kenneth Dewar is an accountant-extremely successful and well connected. This is a story about human accounting, a task Dewar must perform after his wife dies in her sleep, during an afternoon nap. He is forced to reassess his life, that which he valued and that which he forgot. He must come to understand his daughter, neglected by his single minded pursuit of success. Is it a sin to become so involved in business affairs that family is almost forgotten?
