Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure

Contains the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure together with forms, as amended to December 1, 2013. The rules and forms have been promulgated and amended by the United States Supreme Court pursuant to law, and further amended by Acts of Congress. The Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure (FRAP) are a set of rules, originally adopted in 1967 and amended regularly since then, promulgated by the Supreme Court of the United States on recommendation of an advisory committee, to govern procedures in cases under appeal in the United States. The Supreme Court first adopted the Rules of Appellate Procedure by order dated December 4, 1967, transmitted to Congress on January 15, 1968, and effective July 1, 1968. The Appellate Rules and accompanying forms were last amended in 2013. In addition to these rules, procedure in the Courts of Appeals is governed by applicable statutes (particularly Title 28 of the United States Code) and by local rules adopted by each individual
