Devil & the Deep (1932)

Intense drama stars Charles Laughton as mentally unstable naval officer Cmdr. Charles Sturm, whose jealousy forces wife Diana (Tallulah Bankhead) into the arms of Lt. Sempter (Gary Cooper). When Sempter shows up for duty aboard his submarine, Sturm goes off the deep end and collides the vessel with a freighter.
