Committing murder with your intellectually disabled brother and covering it up is a test Owen Canton is about to find out if he can succeed at. Even though the man fully deserved what he got, Owen still feels guilt for pulling the trigger, and his brother just does not have the mental capacity to keep his mouth shut. Owen is convinced he is going to jail.

Karma has made an appearance, taking over the body of Lori Stenville just before she was about to take her last breath. Unfortunately, they now must share the same body. Karma has plans for Lori who just wants to be rid if this unwanted spirit that has invaded her body. She tries to get a local pastor to help her with her problem, but pastor Ted is scared to death of her, so he calls in Joey Hopkins.

To the delight of Owen's brother, Lori is invited to move in with them while Owen deals with his many issues, one which is his writer's block. Desperate to meet his publisher's deadline, his brother knows just the perfect story to tell, and with the help of Karma, they write it all down, every bit of it. Now the question on everyone's mind is, when Joey's arrives, will things get better or worse.
